You fans probably know: If you type in Pamela Anderson or Wendy Hewland on any internet search wll find "PAMELA ANDERSON EXPECTS DEATH IN A DECADE" or "I May Only Have 10 years to Live" comes up numerous times with litte or NO further explanation of the explosive impact that had -only because of the title. So Pamela asked me to set the record straight.
"I May Only Have 10 Years To Live" This was paraphrasing lifted from the Us Weekly article dated Nov 3, 2003 printed in lime green lettering! - Presumably for extra sensationalism! What really happened was: that was a sound byte taken from the Howard Stern show that aired Oct 17 2003. Stern enquired about her status of Hep C? Pamela answered in a self-effacing manner: "Yeah Howard, I've got about 10-15 years !" (I saw the the video tape of said radio show later shown on cable tv's E! channel). -If only she'd punctuated her answer with "rolling her eyes" to fully deliver her quipped reply, it would have been more clear, but a sound byte alone was totally misconstrued by the magazine(s) and web sites. Not blaming her friend Stern either - it was an unfortunate delivery, then taken out of context and misused by the various internet articles and tabloid magazines. The body of this Us article was accurately reported, most of it on her personal life and this following section was also accurate:
Us Weekly November 3 2003 "How Pamela is Battling Her Disease" -quote: "She is a vegetarian and and animal rights activist, so it's no surprise that Pamela Anderson is using alternative natural methods to treat Hepatitis C, a virus that affects about 4 million people in the United States, The actress is working with Wendy Hewland, a homeopathic doctor who has prescribed a remedy specifically made for Anderson. "I feel great, better than last year" she tells Us. Thus far, she's opted agianst using the popular drug Interferon, which requires frequent injections or several months to fight the effects of Hepatitis C (such as fatigue, abdominal pain and nausea) and can help eliminate the virus (Naomi Judd was treated with it) "I'm bad with needles If I had no other choice, I'd use it, but I'm waiting to see how the natural methods work", says Anderson, who gets a liver check-up a few times a year. "And I'm trying to build awareness, so people aren't ashamed to say 'Look, I have hepatitis C'. "
Marieclaire (U.K. edition) March 2003 -3 sections quoted: I have chosen the homeopathic route and am under the care of Dr. Wendy Hewland, whose family owned the famous Nelson's Homeoathic Pharmacy in London. .......At the moment there are too many side effects from Interferon; hair falling out, flu-like symptoms. You feel weak and exhausted all the time. With a four and six year old and no household help, a year of 'the flu' and barely being able to get out of bed just aren't going to cut it in my house. It's different if you have no choice, and of course I'll make the best of whatever happens to me, but I am lucky that it's all such an early stage....... My new Dr (M.D.) says I have a remarkably healthy liver for someone who has the disease.
Dateline NBC interview October/November (?) 2003 Interviewer clarified: "On the scale of Zero - 4 , Zero being a healthy liver and 4 being cancer/transplant status. What grade of Hep C postive are you now"? Pamela answered: " I'm still (Hep C) grade One"
Ask Pamela about this : because In the past year I read ( what magazine?) -out with friend Richard Branson she said had "too much champagne last night, sorry liver!".... and admits to having the odd glass of wine"
OK, hopefully that clarifies the the known "media/press" part so far... Over to Wendy Hewland DHM FBIH HMC
Pamela's treatment with me: Just a quick diversion here.. Before we get into those details:
I recall it was an ominous full moon in September when she bounced into my office with her energy/vitality obviously off the scale "at an 11 out of 10" emanating from that small frame! - She's very quick-minded, I thought I wrote fast, but with her, I can hardly keep up with my note-taking, as she speaks so fast - and she's very comical too! I've had several meetings with her and various journalists -with her constant self-deprecating style of humor, such as when she described herself " now I'm the poison pin-up! "
Many photographers -or at least when it gets to print - do not capture her (though changeable) clear jade green eyes -and she's NO bimbo! At the 50th Anniversary of Playboy party, Hugh Hefner told her he thinks she is the contemporary Marilyn Monroe. - Pamela simply could not have achieved that without a brain too. In case anyone hasn't noticed yet, -since the early 90's, she has cleverly and continuously marketed herself as the world's most contemporary photographed blonde bombshell -and I can assure you, she's had NO cosmetic surgery done on that famous ..... (face) - Because ALL of the above has to be taken into consideration for her remedy:
OK moving on to homeopathy: I have been treating Pamela since September 2002. The single substance homeopathic constitutional remedy was specifically chosen for her by myself (and my highly respected colleage Louis Klein R.S Hom, Vancouver B.C. who consulted with me on her case). -All journalists want to know what it is, but of course that is private and confidential. She has since been taking a daily dose of her remedy. She also takes specific vitamins and supplements.
(With her lifestyle changes in check, plus her remedy) If I can keep Pamela's current status: staying at Hep C positive at Grade One - regular blood work is concurrently checked with her M.D. and viral load measurement stays the same (or of course any improvement would be welcome) - then her life expectancy is as normal as anyone else's. Lifestyle changes advised are very important : NO alcohol, plenty of bottled water, fresh organic food as much as possible, specific vitamins and supplements, normal exercise and plenty of rest.
Constitutional homeopathy treats individuals with the same condition with different single remedies. When a professional Homeopath selects a single remedy for any patient's total condition (not just Hep C or any other damaged organ); plus the personality and lifestyle considered, it is like putting the pieces of a giant jigsaw puzzle together: Each picture (person) is different. -So is their remedy.
So: 1000 Hep C patients would be prescribed 1000 different remedies chosen for each individual patient.
By the way, in addition to the 90 -168 single remedies commonly displayed at pharmacies and organic food markets, we have about 4000 to choose from. New ones are always coming in. I personally find it fascinating "detective work" - It's what us Classical Homeopathic nerds love to do!
Therefore, a professionally prescribed single homeopathic remedy treats much more than one organ - it embodies an individual's total, emotional, mental and physical MATCH.
